Celebrating 15 Years of Clink
Fifteen years ago, Clink began with a simple idea — create a place where great food, thoughtful drinks, and genuine hospitality came together in a space that felt both relaxed and a little bit special.
What we could never have predicted was how deeply this little restaurant and bar would weave itself into the fabric of Sumner.
Over the years, Clink has been many things to many people — the backdrop for first dates and fiftieth birthdays, long lunches that turned into sunset drinks, winter reds by the fire, and balmy summer evenings spilling into the courtyard. We’ve watched proposals unfold, friendships form, families grow, and visitors return year after year.
Hospitality is never just about what’s on the plate or in the glass. It’s about how people feel when they walk through the door.
From the very beginning, owner-chef Rob has led the kitchen with creativity, consistency, and heart, while our front-of-house philosophy has remained beautifully simple: welcome people warmly, look after them generously, and create an experience worth lingering over.
Of course, fifteen years in hospitality doesn’t happen without an extraordinary community around you.

Alongside him, you’ll notice some fresh faces on the floor and behind the bar, all bringing their own spark to the Clink family.

Clink is going on holiday!
TAKING A BREAK ’24
Monday 24th June – Tuesday 9th July
We are heading away for some surf, sun, sand and yoga, and of course lots of researching into F and B will be taking place too!
We will come back rested and relaxed and fully charged to continue doing what we love and maybe with some fresh new ideas!
